ADVENTURE TOUR - 4 DAYS & 4 NIGHTS

DAY 1:  HUARAN to OLLANTAYTAMBO to AGUAS CALIENTES

Machu Picchu is one of the most magnificent archaeological sites on earth and is considered one of the seven wonders of the world.  With just a short extension of your stay at Casa Galactica, you can visit and take in the marvel of this ancient site of Incan heritage and stunning natural beauty.  You will be picked up early in the morning from Casa Galactica in Huaran, and you´ll travel to the Ollantaytambo Train Station, where you´ll embark upon the legendary Vistadome train journey to the village of Aguas Calientes.  Within the Vistadome train, you´ll be completely surrounded by windows, walls and ceiling of the train included, affording unparalleled panoramic views of The Sacred Valley.  At the Aguas Calientes train station, you´ll be greeted by our English-speaking representative and checked into your 3-star hotel.  You will then have free time to explore the village or relax in the local hot springs. Dinner is included and later in the evening our English-speaking tour guide will meet you at the hotel to brief you on the next day´s visit to Machu Picchu.

DAY 1 INCLUDES:

  • Self-served breakfast (cereal, nut milk, fruits, eggs, bread, juice) at Casa Galactica

  • Pick-up and travel from Casa Galactica in Huaran to Ollantaytambo train station, then via Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes

  • Vistadome train ticket from Ollantaytambo train station to Aguas Calientes train station

  • 1-night stay in 3-star hotel in Aguas Calientes

  • Dinner at a restaurant in Aguas Calientes

  • English-speaking tour guide

  • Safe storage of luggage and personal belongings at Casa Galactica (This allows you take a small backpack for your overnight trip in Agua Calientes while leaving the majority of your luggage and personal belongings behind.)  Only small backpacks up to 15 lbs. (7 kgs.) are permitted on the train.

DAY 2:  AGUAS CALIENTES to MACHU PICCHU to HUARAN

After an early breakfast at your hotel, your English-speaking tour guide will meet you at the hotel, and together you will embark on a bus ride to the entrance of Machu Picchu.  Your tour guide will accompany you for two hours as you explore this magnificent Incan archaeological wonder.  You´ll learn about its history, culture, and the ancient Incan Empire.  After the tour, you will be free to explore the site at your own pace, with the option to hike up to Intipunku, also known as the Sun Gate.  If you are looking for even more adventure, you may pre-book additional hikes to the surrounding peaks of Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain at an additional cost (please let us know in advance if you are interested in this).  After a full exploration of Machu Picchu and the surrounding natural beauty, you will return by bus ride to the village of Aguas Calientes for lunch on your own at a local restaurant.  After lunch, you will board the Vistadome train and depart for Ollantaytambo train station.  At Ollantaytambo, you will be picked up and transported back to Casa Galactica, where we will have dinner for you upon your arrival.

  • Round-trip bus tickets from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu and back

  • Entrance fee to Machu Picchu

  • English-speaking tour guide

  • Vistadome train ticket from Aguas Calientes train station to Ollantaytambo train station

  • Pick-up and travel from Ollantaytambo train station to Casa Galactica in Huaran

  • 1-night accommodation at Casa Galactica

  • Dinner at Casa Galactica

DAY 3:  PISAC ARCHAEOLOGICAL RUINS

After a relaxing morning, a self-served breakfast at Casa Galactica, and lunch on your own, you will be picked up at Casa Galactica in Huaran and transported to the high entrance of Pisac Archaeological Site.  You´ll explore these ancient Incan ruins, learn about the history of the site in a guided tour (in English), and enjoy the breathtaking views of The Sacred Valley as your gently hike down to the village and central market of Pisac.  The tour and hike back down to Pisac takes approximately 4 hours.  You may then eat dinner on your own at a restaurant of your choice before returning to Casa Galactica for a campfire.

DAY 3 INCLUDES:

  • Self-served breakfast (cereal, nut milk, fruits, eggs, bread, juice) at Casa Galactica

  • Pick-up and transport from Casa Galactica in Huaran to the high entrance of Pisac Archeological Site

  • Entrance to Pisac Archaeological Site

  • English-speaking tour guide and accompaniment during the hike down to the village of Pisac

  • Pick-up and transport from the village of Pisac to Casa Galactica in Huaran

  • Evening campfire at Casa Galactica

  • 1-night accommodation at Casa Galactica

DAY 3 DOES NOT INCLUDE:

DAY 4:  MORAY ARCHEOLOGICAL SITE & MARAS SALT MINES

After a relaxing morning and a self-served breakfast at Casa Galactica, you will be picked up and transported to the agricultural experiment (or as we see it, an intergalactic space port!) known as Moray Archaeological Site.  This place is truly mesmerizing and you have to see it to believe it.  You can make your own mind up about the meaning behind this sacred site that is surrounded by the towering Andean Mountains and stunning views.

After rehydration and lunch at a local restaurant in Urubamba, you will make your way to the nearby Salt Mines of Maras.  These one-of-a-kind mines are a source of natural pink salt that forms in over 4,200 individual pools which are carved into the side of the mountains.  The pink salt is full of natural minerals and it´s available for purchase in a variety of forms, including bath salts, pink table salt, and even salted chocolate!  Your English-speaking guide will explain in detail the history and heritage of the land.  You will then be transported back to Casa Galactica by early evening for dinner on your own and a campfire.

  • Pick-up and transport from Casa Galactica to Moray, a local restaurant for lunch, Maras Salt Mines, and back to Casa Galactica in Huaran
